Description
The Ark is a mural created by François Schuiten and Alexandre Obolensky in collaboration with the Brüsel Flagey Library at the corner of Chaussée d’Ixelles and Rue Maes in Brussels, and is part of the Herteken Elsene/Redraw Ixelles project of the district. The corner is decorated with the bow of a huge packet ship. Ixelles, Atrium, and Brussels-Capital are partners in this event.
The Ark was initially scheduled to be presented for the first time on April 12, 2013, during the Babel Festival 2013 but was postponed due to bad weather. The new opening took place on Friday, June 21, 2013: at 6 pm at 212 Chaussée d’Ixelles, followed by a reception at the Brüsel Flagey bookstore.
