Biography

Barbara Schroeder, born in Kleve in 1965, left the banks of the Rhine in 1984 to settle in Gironde. She studied at the University of Bordeaux III and the École d’Enseignement Supérieur d’Art de Bordeaux, where she deepened her practice of engraving and obtained a Master’s degree, followed by a Master’s II, completed in 1989, focusing on the paintings of the Berlin Wall. Since then, she has developed a multidisciplinary artistic practice, exhibiting in numerous museums, contemporary art centers, and galleries. In 2016, she won the first prize in sculpture at the Bernard Magrez Cultural Institute with a porcelain installation.
