Description

The core of my work focuses on perception, which is intrinsically linked to space and movement. By encouraging the viewer to move, I invite them to try out different realities and question their own way of seeing and interpreting the world. A work evolves according to the viewer’s position in the surrounding space and reveals itself in different forms and contrasts. The absence of movement fixes the viewer in a vision limited to a single point of view. It is the action in movement that will allow them to experience reality from other perspectives, which seem to cancel out the previous ones, yet are just as real and valid. My works are composed of combinations of straight lines. These are very precise angular cuts in poplar wood. Through this interaction with my “living works”, I hope to bring the viewer surprise and the discovery of multiple realities that can coexist in harmony.

Biography

Born on August 24, 1976, in Brussels, BrieucC comes from a family of artists and trained in drawing and painting according to the Martenot method. There, he developed a sensory approach and learned to feel the balance of shapes, volumes, and colors. Always fascinated and drawn to light, it has been a triggering element in BrieucC’s artistic work. In 2014, he designed and created his first work incorporating light. This piece, “La porte” (“The Door”), highly symbolic for him, marked the beginning of a new life. His work quickly evolved to focus on perception and movement. As a creator of his own artistic technique, his style is quite unique and recognizable. His “angular art” is resolutely minimalist and contemporary and fits within kinetic art. Since 2023, he has been working with natural light, playing with contrasts and forms, mainly in black and white.
