Description
The large white sheet is placed on the wall. Its subject is present, alive within it. In the inner silence, she picks up the marker. She makes peace to fully enter the sensation. It is the dancer who engages the body, who unfurls her gesture. She traces the vigorous forces of the trunk with a firm, vertical, deep line. Then, delicate, tender, suspended, her hand draws the freshly bloomed flower. Breathing into the line. Pausing. Like walking on a tightrope, she listens to the void that nourishes the form without seeking to complete it. Moment by moment, the drawing appears. The botanical portrait evokes a chiseled simplicity, becomes a golden monochrome like an icon, or overflows with rhythmic and colorful harmonics.
