Description

PICTORIAL POTENTIAL. My work oscillates around image, material, and environment—specifically the spatial context in which it is found. It is a pictorial study of nature on a personal scale. My activities span several mediums, such as drawing, painting, and installation, but painting is at the heart of this plastic organism. Between the eye and the hand, seeing the image, delving into the material, in a full attempt at instinctive activity, I somewhere touch upon the socio-cultural and technological context of the era and the history of art deep within my mind. These grains of reflection help me situate myself in current creation, and thus to throw a few stones at passersby on paths of exchange in the contemporary landscape. There are two fundamental intersections of interest: image-space and image-material.
