Description

How can we understand each other despite our differences? We are not sociologists, but we try to think critically. Even if we don’t fully grasp it, we want to rely on Pierre Bourdieu’s theory of cultural capital: “The primary function of art is social… Cultural practice serves to differentiate classes and class fractions, to justify the domination of some by others.” How can two people who are drastically opposed in language, body expression, dress, and worldview find a way to unite, coexist, or even love each other? This is the question we want to explore in our quest for connection and kindness between us, the bipedal creatures with smooth skin and opposable thumbs.
