Description
For several years, I have been working on a series of large-scale paintings and drawings focused on the theme of precarious habitats or ephemeral spaces occupied by the world of prostitution. These obsolete architectures, made almost entirely of plastic and placed in the heart of nature, have fascinated me primarily due to the evident dichotomy they present at first glance. To me, they represent modern ruins, both literally and figuratively. Certainly, one might see them as an attempt to create a modern drapery, akin to an academic study on how to render light on plastic in a natural environment. However, the absence of humans in my works highlights the clear inhumanity of the purpose for which these shelters were constructed. Whether by choice or by constraint, these occupants deserve the respect that a humble painter has been able to give them.
